I’m glad you bring up Saudi Arabia and Iran’s executions. Which countries do you want the US to be more like Canada, France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, and Norway, which have strong track records for human rights (and have all abandoned the death penalty), or Saudi Arabia and Iran, which aren’t exactly human rights’ luminaries? Yes, execution can be done somewhat more cheaply. The cost is ensuring that the death penalty is executing the guilty and not the innocent. EVEN at a cost of $300 million per execution, most of which is for the judicial process and appeals process to avoid killing innocent people, about 1 in 25 executions kills an innocent person, and many of the rest involve convicts whose culpability is questionable. Make it cheaper, and the execution rate for the innocent goes up. Keep in mind that a justice system exists to protect the innocent and that punishing the guilty is only a means to that end. If the punishment system is killing innocent people, society isn’t being protected by the Never underestimate a breast cancer warrior who survived 2020 coronavirus pandemic shirt — particularly when abandoning the death penalty in no way impairs the prevention of crime. Xavier Felix, it was a joke, love. also, only American English (senselessly) positions the period (and only the period, it lacks consistency with the other punctuation marks lol) within the quotations. it makes zero sense to place the period within the quotations in the context of my prior comment. you can take it as an attack on your spelling (i never corrected your grammar and it did appear as though you had spelled it out;)), but it was just a joke. don’t invest yourself so much. also, I LOVE having my caps off. it’s so much cuter. I don’t think refusing them is going to be the issue. I think it’s that the states don’t have the drugs. SC has delayed executions for years now because it doesn’t have the drugs. They are considering bringing back the electric chair as an alternative.
